Meet our doctoral Candidate
Welcome! My name is Kelsha Weaver, and I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Phoenix, pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration degree. I am a retired Army Major with over 24 years of service in the Medical Service Corps.
My dissertation explores the perceptions of Black women veterans in farmland procurement, inspired by my personal journey and the transformative policies of Section 22007 of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, also known as the Discrimination Financial Assistance Program (DFAP).
Together with my husband, a retired Command Sergeant Major, I manage a small farm in South Georgia, which we purchased in 2013 as part of our retirement plan. Originally from Southern Louisiana, I am a novice Black farmer with a deep passion for Black Agrarianism. This passion is fueled by my lived experiences and the systemic challenges I’ve encountered in agriculture.
